Granted that the Duke and Duchess announcement must have been upsetting for a lot of people, but even so, I think we made a tremendous fuss about it. So much criticism, ranting and condemnation. We are such drama queens! The energy, blood pressure over what was rather a family affair than a public one – now quietly resolved.
The Duke and Duchess are now free to go into all the world for twelve months and make a life for themselves and their son, Archie – just like the rest of us. Depending on the success of their plans, this could become the blueprint for future monarchs that are further down the throne. In the meantime, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have agreed to the following:
Prince Harry and Meghan will stop using their His/her Royal Highness (HRH) titles because they no longer represent the Queen. Instead, they become known as the Duke and Duchess of Sussex from this spring.
Line of succession
Prince Harry remains the sixth in line of succession to the throne.
Although, the Duke and Duchess have chosen not to give their son, Archie a title now, that automatically changes when Prince Charles assumes the throne. Archie takes on the His Royal Highness (HRH) title, and further down the line, technically becomes ‘Prince Archie.’ It all depends on Archie if he embraces these titles.
Patronages and Appointments
They will carry on their private patronages and associations including the Invictus Games Foundation and the Rugby Football League. I am sure we will find out more in the coming months.
Plans toward financial Independence
They can now be financially independent with ‘no recourse to public fund’. The same rule applies to foreigners coming to study in the UK. They don’t benefit from public funds too.
They’ve agreed to pay rent for Frogmore Cottage, which remain their UK family home.
They will be returning the £2.4 million received from taxpayer for refurbishing the Frogmore Cottage. Prince Harry and Meghan, you are now FREE.
Prince Harry will continue to receive support from his Father’s estate, the Duchy of Cornwall. Isn’t this what all fathers do! Matthew 7:9-11 – “Which of you, if your son asks for bread, will give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a snake?
I’m surprised this even came up, when we still pay security for former minister. Come on UK, quit being vindictive!
Anyways, it looks like wisdom has prevailed here. Her Majesty isn’t bringing us into this conversation. If men were God…
